While flight simulators have repeatedly covered World War I, World War II, and modern jet combat, very few have sought to go back and cover mid 1950s through to the late 1960s but it looks like Gaijin is set to take War Thunder in that direction with the introduction of the world’s first supersonic jet interceptors and the guided missiles that those aircraft brought to the table.Īlong with a selection of unguided Hydra rockets and a variety of bombs, the F-100D and MiG-PT are both available in War Thunder with the AIM-9B and what the developers are calling the P-3C missile (of which I can find no reference to – I assume they are talking about the K-13/AA-22 “Atoll” which was called R-3 and Object 300 in prototype stages) as well as the British Firestreak missile which will be on the Javelin Mark 9.Īlong with the guided missiles, War Thunder developers Gaijin are also introducing anti-missile countermeasures as well. Say hello to the MiG-19PT, the F-100 Super Sabre, and the Javelin Mark 9. Having completed vast quantities of World War II and early jet era aircraft for War Thunder ranks 1 through 5, the developers at Gaijin have decided to keep going and are introducing an entirely new rank of aircraft and introducing a new era of aircraft at the same time.
